Scavi per metropolitana* Excavations for the underground
Grandi scavi in tutta la città per la costruzione (discutibile) della metropolitana. * Big excavations all around the town for the (debatable) construction of the underground.
We are about to enter into a long project here, too. But our tunnel is to put a highway below ground level as a solution to a double deck elevated highway that was damaged in an earthquake. Wish us luck. It has taken more than 7 years to just come to a decision on how to go forward. Very controversial and, like you, many folks are not in support of it. -Kim Seattle Daily Photo
Kim: yes it's always hard to make a decision on something that's gonna cost so much money to the whole town and cause a lot of discomfort (the work in progress) for years to come. I do hope the results will pay us for our patience! :)
* Born thanks to the inspiration provided by City Daily Photo and to its long list of wonderful cities scattered around the world.Mine wasn't on the list so I decided to pay an homage but also to make peace with this ever-growing town, a bridge between past, present and multietnicity.

Underground? In Brescia? Which, if I remember well, is not much larger than Livorno...
You have to unravel this mistery for us!
A costly exercise I bet!
Vogon Poet: yes Brescia counts more or less 200.000 inhabitants! There's been lot of fuss about the underground issue years ago...imho,it's not worth.
Kris: I'd have loved seeing those money spent in other ways :(
